Our Founder
Ms. Shyam Badan Shrestha – a remarkable social entrepreneur and a champion of women’s empowerment and environmental sustainability in Nepal. As the Chairperson of Nepal Knotcraft Centre Pvt. Ltd., she has spent over 40 years transforming traditional craft skills into a source of dignity, income, and independence for women across the country.
Maya Rai — Director of Nepal Knotcraft Centre and a passionate advocate for preserving Nepal’s living heritage through indigenous skills, traditional crafts, and intergenerational knowledge. Growing up in a community of weavers, Maya was inspired by her mother’s artistry and mentored by the legendary Shyam Badan Shrestha, founder of Nepal Knotcraft Centre.
