Since 1984 Nepal Knotcraft Centre has been a leading visionary and a pioneer in design and innovation. Who Founded Nepal Knotcraft Centre?<\/h4><\/span><\/div>

Founded in 1984 by Mrs. Shyam Badan Shrestha, Nepal Knotcraft Centre economically empowers women through employment in traditional craft. Beginning with just three women making simple macram\u00e9 goods, the Centre now works with hundreds of artisans across Nepal\u2013 many from socially and economically disadvantaged communities. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Inspired by traditional Nepali designs and techniques, each piece is crafted from sustainably sourced plant fibres such as Cattail (Elephant grass), Thatch, Water hyacinth, Corn husk, Wheat straw, Banana stem, Bamboo, and Pine needles.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\n

\nNepal Knotcraft Centre switched to Natural fiber as a response to a ban on cotton exports by India to Nepal. Thus, began our Founder, Shyam Badan Shrestha’s life long pursuit of natural fiber exploration. Over a span of almost 30 years the company has experimented and documented its work with nearly 40 different natural fibers. \n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\n
